"Elegant Fury" is a masterful blend of Chocky's edgy guitar solos splashing color atop everything from solid, hard rock backgrounds to driving, sexy rhythms, to beautiful, melodic, heart-felt chord progressions amidst songs written about subjects as controversial and unpopular as domestic violence. Of course, all of the basic music and biting, but ever-tasteful guitar solos are topped off with multiple vocal harmonies, proving once again that as with groups like Def Leppard, Journey, and others, Pop and Rock Music are still genres made for two and three part harmonies amidst a sea of groups with one front man as the singer.
MAKE NO MISTAKE! Don't misunderstand! "Elegant Fury" is NOT a classic rock CD! The program director of a local radio station looked at Chocky's headline which reads, "...he's Jimi Hendrix meets the Eagles" (merely a comment made about him), and he told Chocky that Classic Rock would not be appropriate on a "Modern Rock Station". This comment proved only one thing: that particular "program director" did not listen to one song from the CD.
The comparison of Hendrix and the Eagles was drawn only for one reason: Chocky is a masterful guitarist and musician, one of the best around today, who can and does play every single instrument heard on his CD's and videos; however, he also provides every vocal melody and the multiple harmonies of bands like the Eagles, Def Leppard, Journey, and others, singing every vocal himself. Unfortunately, this has become rare, today...it is an art-form that has been almost lost among Pop and Rock artists, and has been picked up very wisely by Country artists who are kicking Pop, Rock, and Hip-Hop music to the ground. It will take rebels and masters like Chocky to wake up the "Rock masses" who enjoy this beautiful and creative art-form. Chocky refuses to do anything less.
